Thomas L. Bookey

Thomas L. Bookey (Tom) was born in Des Moines, IA on April 22, 1945, to Lester Bookey and Mary Jane Rivkin Bookey and passed away on April 23, 2023, in Naples, Florida surrounded by loving friends shortly after celebrating his 78th birthday.

Tom was a committed golfer, an avid reader, passionate about politics and devoted to family. He was beloved by all who had the gift of knowing him; his charm, quick wit, and storytelling brightened any room he was in. Whether it was a party, a golf trip, or enjoying meals at Gibson's with his family and close friends, "Tommy Numbers" always made things more fun.

 

However, Tom displayed his true strength and spirit as he battled Guillain-Barre syndrome for the past 12 years. Throughout the ordeal, he never let his spirit diminish or his one-of-a-kind sense of humor falter. Tom's strength of will and character in the face of such adversity is a most fitting testament to the man he was.

He will forever be loved and his memory will live on in all those he touched in life.
